You've Got Mail || Adoption Wait
Who remembers the 1998 movie, You've Got Mail starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan? And if you're old enough, how many of your remember plugging your modem into the phone and hearing that lovely screeching sound to connect to AOL and the world wide interweb?
When the internet first became a "thing" it took a good 5 minutes or more to get connected to the internet. There were no apps or cell phone instant gratification. You had to wait to see if you had a little envelope in the mailbox of your email. And if you did, it was SOOOO exciting!
Nowadays, I think we can all get bogged down with the amount of information that is at our fingertips. Emails aren't as exciting as they once were, and going "offline" is now a thing.
This past week plus I have been flinching EVERY TIME my email dings on my phone. IS THAT THE EMAIL I have been waiting for? The email that says our letter of acceptance is on the way? Nope, not yet. It is all consuming.
This morning at 6:30 when I finally made myself wake up, first thing I did was check my email. Nope... still nothing.
Today is the 6 week mark of when we should hopefully hear from China that they are sending our Letter of Acceptance for our little guy. The wait is hard. Especially now that we are here. It's like being at your due date for your baby and constantly thinking, "Is today going to be the day?" The waiting is hard. But it's okay.
So instead of driving myself mad, I am trying to "busy" myself with other things. The garden is overflowing with zucchini and cucumbers because I went a little overboard on my planting... So we are making all things zucchini and cucumber! Haha! Myyyyy bad! Good thing zucchini is freezable! Oh! And if you have a good recipe for anything zucchini or cucumber, share it in the comments below! I'd love to try it!
I've also been trying to focus on getting our little guy's room done. This past weekend the hubs made the bookshelves for the wall and got them hung after I painted them. I love how they turned out! I started out with a theme, but it is going more eclectic with Mr. Fox as the star of the show. Brooklynn picked out Mr. Fox. He will be traveling with us to China to meet his new buddy! Oh man, I can't wait! Get me on a plane!
So in the midst of the waiting for that one crucial and most important email notification that will most likely make me cry and FINALLY allow me to show you his picture... I pray and wait some more... And eat all the things. LOL Just kidding, kinda. It's a good thing I like to workout. LOL We are sooooooooooooooooo close! Come OOOOOOON email!
