Spring Cleaning Made Easy

Spring Cleaning Made Easy

Woah! It's already March!!! Apparently my blogging decided to take a hiatus during February.

Y'all, I have GRAND PLANS every spring to clean out every nook and cranny of my house and purge things not needed. And granted, I would say we do a pretty decent job. But that is mainly because disorganization drives me nuts and old broken toys make me crazy. However, I will admit, I have some hoarding tendencies, especially when it comes to home decor magazines or photography related anything. I also seem to have an issue with collecting old gift bags.

I don't know... but it's an issue.

So this spring, I am CLEANING HOUSE and purging. Out with the old and trying to not replace it with new junk!

It is so easy to place too much value on "stuff." And I always find it amazing how that "stuff" I thought I "needed" becomes an annoyance to me. So this year, my goal is to minimize that "stuff" coming into my home and asking myself the good hard question of: do you NEED it or WANT it?

I came across this fun list of 60 things to toss out in the next 60 days and thought I would give it a try. I loved the items on this list as well because many of them I forget and overlook.

And let me add by saying: DON'T DO THIS ALONE! Get the whole family involved!!! Teaching our children at an early age to get rid of things and not hoard is such a valuable tool they will need later on in life. It also gives them tools of ownership and teaches good stewardship to take care of the things they have and repurpose the things they do not need.

Spring cleaning makes me excited, because it means that warmer and longer days are just around the corner! And once we are done with the inside of our house, we will move outside and prepare our yard for spring and gardening!
