All in homeschooling
Today the kids and I joined in on some fun festive Christmas celebrations with our Classical Conversations Thursday Community. The kids put on a fantastic Talent Show in front of their peers and loved ones. It was so awesome to see these kids conquer nerves and use their public speaking skills that they learn all throughout the year be put to use.
Every year right around this time many homeschool parents are READY for a break! A break from the daily tasks, a break from schedules, a break from the grind. And I am grateful Christmas takes place when it does.Breaks like this allow me to regroup and focus back on what is most important (for us, Christ) and our WHY for homeschooling. Remembering our WHY for homeschooling fuels me for the reason I chose this journey for education and excites me for the weeks (and years) ahead.
5th grade. How are we here already?
I mentioned this on an Instagram post, but I never knew how much I truly wanted a daughter until the Dr. told me we were having a girl.
Have you ever heard the statement: “I could never” preceded by what an individual felt like they could never do?
I have - on multiple occasions. But most of the time I hear that statement when someone finds out that I homeschool. And 9 times out of 10 what follows sounds a bit like this:
4 years ago, when the idea of homeschooling first started rolling around in my head, it felt like a Mt. Everest. Something that was impossible. That would be too difficult. We'd hate each other by the end of the day... All the thoughts of "I can't because..." were rolling around in my head.
I LOVE Homeschooling! <--- That is not a sentence you would have heard me say 3 years ago because homeschooling was never my plan. "Other" people did that...
Over the last 3 years we have been on a crazy transformative (<--- made up word but sound legit so I am using it haha!) journey that has lead us to homeschooling and now an international adoption..
